Gower brings with her decades of expertise in health care leadership in the non-profit, for-profit, public and faith-based health care sectors. Prior to joining Unity Center, June served as executive director for the Center for Living.

Her experience includes serving under the U.S. Attorney General as the associate chief nurse in Washington, D.C., and with the International Medical Center in Africa as senior director. Upon returning to the United States, she worked in CNO, COO, VP and executive director roles throughout the United States.

“I entered health care directly after high school, joined the Army as a field medic and discovered my love for the industry,” Gower said. “Legacy’s mission is to deliver quality care to the communities it serves and that aligns with my leadership beliefs. I treat patients the way I would want my family treated because they are someone’s family.”

Gower earned her bachelor of science degree in nursing from Arizona State University, her clinical nurse specialist master’s degree from California State University and her doctorate in public policy and administration in health services from Walden University.

When not working, June spends quality time with her three grandchildren, loves the outdoors and considers herself a weekend warrior.
